Counselling Approach

  • What is Person Centred Counselling

Person centred therapy is a talking therapy developed by Carl Rogers in the 1950's. Essentially it is a humanistic approach which believes that you are the expert of our own life, placing you the client at the centre of the therapy.

I understand that everyone's journey and struggles are unique. I am an intuitive counsellor and will help you to focus on your inner world, thoughts and feelings without judgement or criticism.

  • My counselling Approach

I will work collaboratively with you, listening to whatever you want to bring to the session. Person- centred therapy is non directive which means that I will listen and be guided by you, reflecting your thoughts so that you can hear them more clearly.

Grief and pain is stored in the body. The messages that the body gives us can help us to understand our pain and feelings more deeply. I will guide you to focus on where you feel your pain in your body, helping you to identify the energy point or chakra. When these energy points are blocked or out of alignment, this can affect our wellbeing.

It can be hard to verbalise our feelings, so by noticing where we feel an emotion in the body can give us extra awareness. This awarensss can help you to bring clarity to the feelings, allowing you to explore them more deeply in the therapeutic space.

  • What happens in a session.

I offer a safe confidential space in my home office where we can connect online or by telephone if you prefer. This is your space to talk and  feel heard, seen and understood, and where you can begin to find clarity and peace in your life.

I will send you a link via email so that you can easily connect with me in the therapeutic space.  All sessions are confidential and will last for fifty minutes.

During our sessions, we will work together to help you hear your inner voice, so that you can start living the life you truly deserve. At times of stress our inner guidance can become buried in the noise of the external world. I will be alongside you to help you hear your souls wisdom, your innermost thoughts enabling you to process feelings more deeply. I understand that counselling can be daunting at first but it is a collaborative process, where we will work together to identify and address areas that you need support with.

  • What areas I specialise in.

I specialise in working with adults and can support you in addressing a range of issues including grief and relationship challenges, anxiety and depression. It is important to me that you feel comfortable with my approach, so I offer a free 20-minute session and encourage you to ask questions about how I work.

Whether you're struggling with relationship issues, anxiety, depression, or any other challenge, my goal is to empower you with the tools and insights you need to start moving forwards towards greater joy and self-awareness.
